The lucky winner, a Macomb County resident, decided to stay anonymous so it is likely that his identity will forever remain a mystery.
The fortunate 84-year-old player purchased his winning ticket online at MichiganLottery.com.
To win the top prize from Fantasy 5, the lucky man matched all winning numbers from the game’s drawing on August 16, 2025, which were 01, 03, 07, 23 and 38.
This correct match brought the lucky winner Fantasy 5’s top prize for a sweet $481,582 payday.
Speaking to an official with the Michigan Lottery, the 84-year-old player shared his excitement.
“I have been playing Fantasy 5 for a long time hoping to win big, and I can’t believe it finally happened,” the winner admitted.
The 84-year-old man said that after purchasing his ticket online, he wrote down the numbers he selected so that he could check on the next day.
According to the Macomb County player, on the next day, he heard that the jackpot had already been won.
“I started matching my numbers and went into shock when I realized I was the jackpot winner,” the fortunate man said.
The Macomb County lottery player visited the Lottery headquarters to claim his big prize.
Asked about his plans for the windfall, the man admitted that he will share the prize with his family and then save the rest.
